Focus on the Past Perfect

The past perfect [had + Past Participle]and past perfect progressive [had been + present participle] express actions that occurred or were occurring earlier than another past action.

Scan the following pages and write complete sentences that have past perfect or past perfect progressive verbs. The verb expressing earlier past time is past perfect. Think about the meaning of the verb within the context of the sentence as you write it.
